Two New Canadian Success Stories for Secure, Smart Bike Parking

CycleSafe is excited to share two compelling Canadian case studies that highlight how modern, digitally enabled bike-parking solutions are making a real difference in cities. These projects showcase how secure bicycle lockers can encourage cycling, support urban mobility, and deliver operational efficiency.

1. London, Ontario: App-Controlled Bike Lockers Encourage Cycling

In London, Ontario — a city with more than 350 km (217 miles) of bike paths — CycleSafe installed multiple digital-access locker banks, each with six fully enclosed spaces. Four of those are available for hourly rentals, while two support monthly use. Riders use an app to reserve and unlock lockers, with the first two hours free and after that just CA $0.50/hour. The app-based system provides administrative tools like access management and real-time reporting, making it easier for the city to support active transportation. Located downtown and integrated into the city’s active-transportation network, the system offers flexible, on-demand access for riders and a remote management dashboard for staff.
